The Partridge String Quartet

A world Premiere in Mount Beauty? With the composer present? Absolutely!! Australian composer David Hush has chosen the Partridge string Quartet to present his “4th String Quartet” as part of their program here in Mount Beauty on September 2nd.

Fourteen minutes long, and in 5 movements, Hush’s work will feature in an evening of classical presentations not to be missed. David Hush’s international reputation includes prestigious awards and commissions for famous ensembles, soloists and organisations spanning three decades.  The Melbourne based Partridge String Quartet has brought back members currently working overseas for the performance and recording of Hush’s work. David Hush says: “ the Partridge Quartet came to my attention after hearing them play an excerpt from one of Beethoven’s late quartets. This convinced me that they are the perfect ensemble to bring my piece to the world.”

Mount Beauty Community Centre     Doors open 7:30       Saturday 2nd September.

Tickets $25 (non-member); $20 (member); $10 (youth) from Mount Beauty Hardware and Drapery; TryBooking or at the door (eftpos available)

We are so close but still need a reach the minimum of 100!  Survey closes 11th August.

If we don’t get to 100 surveys, we will only receive a generic Australia wide report, not an individualised report specific to Alpine.

May I say a big thanks to those that have been able to have students complete the Mission Australia survey.  Your support in this is greatly appreciated, however time will soon run out on us – closing 11th August.

We don't want you to miss out on this opportunity to gain valuable insights about the views and experiences of your young people on a range of important topics, that are specific to youth in Alpine Shire. Survey link is below to share with your young people, or as many indicated they maybe able to complete in home room or another time.  Must use the code 28002.

The online survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and allows young people aged 15 to 19 a voice to share their views and lead discussion on issues concerning them.
