Regional Support Opportunity

I am pleased to announce that our school has secured the services of two School Improvement Consultants. They will be working to support our school until the end of this year. This is a fully funded, Regional arrangement. Pam Thibou-Martin and Anne Klock spent their first day at school last Friday and will regularly visit the school over the next term. They bring a wealth of experience in school improvement and will support the school to move forwards in a positive and strong manner. This is a valuable opportunity for our school and the support of Region for this initiative is much appreciated.

2023 Ski Season

While the season was much anticipated and the solid snow falls at the start of the season seemed promising, the spring like weather has not helped the situation much. While we were lucky enough to be able to run our whole ski program (last downhill and cross country days this week), other events have not been so lucky.

Our Year 9 Future Maker students would normally be heading up for a day at Fall Creek to complete some volunteer work in the form of helping to set up the staging area for the Hoppet, however, due to the relocation of the event, this will no longer be possible. Brad Redmond (Year 9 Coordinator) is working closely with Outdoor School – Bogong to be able to organise another volunteer activity in its stead and I am sure that it will be just as worthwhile an exercise in volunteering, providing the benefits to the volunteer, as well as the community.

Parent Opinion Survey - DET

Families would have received a Compass email last week with the login details for the DET parent survey. It is open until Friday 8th September and I urge all families to complete this survey. The data is used to help with future planning and we like to hear from all voices.

Only one family member needs to complete the survey and it is supposed to take about 20 minutes. With 128 families invited, 13 have responded to this point, making it only a 10% completion rate at this stage.

School For Student Leadership

Last Wednesday evening was the information session for the Term 4 group of students who will be attending the Don Valley campus. The students got to hear about current students’ experiences at the campus and were able to ask questions to help alleviate any concerns they might have.

The Year 9 students will be heading off after the first week of Term 4. They are: Alec, Beau, Connor, Ella, Hannah and Jacinta.
