Newlands Soccer World Cup

La Copa del Mundo en Newlands!

Last Friday's Mini World Cup finale was a great showdown between Argentina and Venezuela, competing head-to-head for the championship.

In the beginning, Argentina secured a goal, yet the referees quickly realised an extra player in Argentina team was on the field during the goal. Consequently, the goal was invalidated. However, it took only five minutes for Venezuela to seize the opportunity and score an impressive goal.

The remaining part of the game was a roller-coaster of excitement for the spectators students, as both Argentina and Venezuela had numerous chances to score more goals. Ultimately, Venezuela emerged victorious with a 1-0 triumph, securing the title of the first Newlands World Cup.

As a reward for their remarkable achievement, Venezuela will take on a team of teachers today at 2 pm. Furthermore, they will proudly be presented with the winners' trophy during next Friday's assembly.

A hearty of applause to both teams for an astonishing final, highlighting sportsmanship and determination!

Yours faithfully,
