Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Many Thanks

During the last couple of weeks I took some Long Service Leave to visit my son who is living overseas. During my absence Daniel Chittenden and Lachie Wright occupied the roles of Acting Principal and Assistant Principal. I would like to sincerely thank both for their commitment and dedication in my absence. It was great to be able to leave and know that everything would be handled so capably.

Spectacular!

It was really fantastic to see so many families enjoying our special night last Wednesday. The students provided  great Art and STEM displays for parents to view.

I have received numerous positive comments about the night which was pleasing as I know there was a lot of work that went into planning the night.

We raised over $3000 on the night which will go towards the synthetic resurfacing of the basketball court. Hopefully by the end of this year, we are very close to fundraising the amount needed for this project.

Term 4

Reminder to parents that the last day of Term 3 is Friday 15th September. Students finish at 2.30pm on that day.  Camp Australia operates an afterschool program if parents require assistance. Please contact them directly to organise the documentation.

Complete Parent Survey

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.  Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

If you received one of these surveys we would be extremely grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete it. The survey closes on

 Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. .

Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance or have any questions.

Many thanks in advance.

2024 Placement

At Rollins, we work thoughtfully to build future class groupings. Teachers work together (literally for hours) forming classes for the coming year. They consider student learning styles, behaviour needs, student personalities, gender (even numbers of boys and girls) and many other factors to create classrooms where students will work well together and with their teacher. It is a complex process. Our goal is always to create the most balanced classes possible.

Parents are invited to advise us of any considerations that they would like us to take into account for student placement in 2024. If you would like to take this opportunity, I ask that you provide your thoughts in writing to me, no later than Thursday 19th October 2023. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider requests after this date. Please note we cannot meet requests for specific teachers and, although we try our best to meet all requests, we cannot give guarantees.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

School Uniform

Just a reminder to parents that the warmer weather is beginning - as yet not consistent, but we are getting some warmer days. Students may wear their broad brimmed hats outside if they wish, but these are not compulsory until Term 4 when the warmer weather really hits.
