Bike Safety/Bike Check Day

Friday 1st September

Students in years 3-6 will bring their bikes to school to participate in road safety activities on the back playground as part of our PDH program. Activities include precision riding, safe overtaking and manoeuvring through a round-about and obstacle courses to prepare students for unforeseen surfaces and traffic, as well as having their bikes checked for roadworthiness.

Sessions will last for approximately 40 minutes. All students will participate whether riding or not. Students must have a helmet that is correctly fitted and adheres to Australian Standards. Skateboard helmets and motor bike helmets are not legal.

If you need to leave your child’s bike overnight on Thursday, please let your teacher know and it will be locked in the hall. Teachers will inform students as to where they will park their bikes for the day.
