Berwick Springs View Club visit
Last week, we were excited to host a special morning tea for the lovely members of the Berwick Springs View Club. They had the chance to visit our Food Tech room and were very impressed with the setup!
A group of year 6 students helped prepare some delicious treats for the morning tea, including rice paper rolls, pizza scrolls, fruit cakes, and a tasty slice. The volunteers from the club were blown away by the amazing things our students are cooking each week and thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
We’re incredibly grateful for the generous donations the club has made to our Food Tech program over the past year — from kitchen equipment to pantry supplies. Below are some photos of the items they kindly donated to us this week.
What Have We Been Cooking?
Our Food Tech students have been doing a fantastic job over the past few weeks! Recently, we’ve made spiced fruit cakes, black bean quesadillas, red lentil and carrot soup, and cheesy bix with herb butter. It’s been wonderful to see so many students trying new foods, even when they weren’t quite sure at first. Well done, everyone!
What’s Coming Up
In the final two weeks of term, we’ll be baking banana muffins and jam & coconut puffs. The students are already looking forward to these to finish of another great term.
Ingredients
Here’s a list of the ingredients we’ll be using in the coming weeks (all known allergies are catered for):
Hair Ties
Just a friendly reminder that students need to bring a hair tie on their Food Tech day if they have long hair. For safety reasons, hair must be tied back when cooking. Thank you for your support!
