Year 1 Information
Term 4
Welcome to Term 4! We hope you all had a relaxing break. The Year 1 team is excited to jump back into our last term of learning for the academic year. We encourage all parents and carers to check the newsletter each week to stay updated on all the exciting events happening at Chatswood Public School.
A friendly reminder that students need to be dropped off between 8:30 am and 8:55 am. Students can place their bags in their lines before playing in the park. They can be picked up from these lines when the day ends at 3:00 pm.
We appreciate all parents dropping off at the gate in the morning, as this supports a smooth and settled transition into classrooms.
A reminder the school term ends on Friday 19th December.
Please submit all absence notifications via the School Bytes application.
Applications for international or domestic travel for 5 days or longer must be requested through the school office, with an “Extended Leave - Travel” form completed and flight details provided.
If your child is away for consecutive days due to sickness, please notify the teacher via School Bytes for each day your child is absent. You may be asked to provide a medical certificate for absences of 3 days or more.
Students can be dropped off at school any time from 8:30 am to 8:55 am. If you arrive at school after 9:00 am, please visit the office to sign your child in. The school day ends at 3:00 pm, and students must be collected from the COLA at that time. If you are unable to collect your child on time, you can enrol them in After School Care.
The three behaviour expectations at Chatswood Public School were developed through consultation with students, staff, and parents, and are as follows:
Summer Uniform - Term 1 & Term 4 Students should be dressed in their summer uniform during Term 4.
Please ensure your child wears layers on top of their school uniform, such as a jumper or jacket, so they can remove it as the day warms up.
The school has a year-round “No Hat – Play in the Shade” policy in place. Students without a uniform hat are required to remain in a supervised shaded area during outdoor activities.
Crunch & Sip is a designated time during each school day for students to eat vegetables or fruit and drink water in the classroom. It runs for approximately 10 minutes at a time determined by your child’s class teacher. Please pack a small piece of fruit or vegetable each day that your child can munch on during this time. They can also have a drink of water.
Please see the schedule for K-2 classes hosting assemblies this term:
