A message from Stage 2
Stage 2 would like to thank you for a wonderful term full of learning, sports, and electives. We appreciate and thank our students for showing PAX behaviours, helping everyone feel safe and valued at school. Have a relaxing break and we look forward to seeing you next term!
In our first English unit next term, we will focus on narrative writing. We will read and explore a book called 200 Minutes of Danger by Jack Heath to see how stories are often built with familiar characters and events that help readers know what to expect. Using parts of this book, we will practice creating our own stories. We will focus on how to plan, write, and improve a story that has a clear beginning (orientation), a problem or challenge (complication), and a solution (resolution).
In Stage 2 mathematics next term, we will explore multiplicative strategies, learning different ways to multiply numbers and solve problems involving multiplication and division. We will also explore how division is related to multiplication and how to share or split numbers into equal parts. We will practice solving real-life problems that involve both multiplication and division, helping us see how these skills are useful in everyday situations.
We have finished our dance unit for the term, where we learned a fun and energetic country line dance. This dance includes lively footwork and focuses on keeping good timing and repeating steps. We have practiced clear and precise movements, following patterns and moving confidently in different directions around the space. It’s been a great way for us to build coordination and enjoy dancing together.
Stage 2 are excited to welcome Miss Jessica Pearce, who will be teaching S2E for the remainder of the year.
