ANNUAL SMALL SCHOOLS PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

On Tuesday, September 16th, we had the honour of hosting the 28th Annual Small Schools Public Speaking Competition sponsored by the Boggabri Rotary Club. This wonderful event brought together students, staff, and families from our community. We were joined by students from Boggabri Public, Blackville, Fairfax, Mullaley, and Premer Public Schools, with a total of 124 students competing across all year levels.

The competition was a true showcase of confidence, creativity, and incredible speaking talent. We were so impressed by the bravery and skill of every student who researched, prepared, practised and then stepped up to speak.

We would like to give a special thank you to Mrs Jenny Darley for her outstanding coordination of the day, with help from Ms Robyn Traynor and the Sacred Heart Staff. Jenny and Robyn worked tirelessly to bring this event together, ensuring it ran seamlessly.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Boggabri Rotary Club for their invaluable contributions. They generously supplied the trophy and book prizes, provided timekeepers and cooked a fantastic BBQ lunch for all attendees. A special thank you also goes to the adjudicators and helpers who dedicated their time to ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully. Their support was crucial in making the day an enjoyable experience for all in attendance.

Lastly, thank you to our dedicated community, everyone who attended and supported the students, and to all the staff and families who contributed baked goods to raise money for our Year 6 fundraiser.

Congratulations to all the students who participated, making the day a truly memorable one. We're already looking forward to next year's competition!
