MACSSIS School Improvement Survey
This month our school is participating in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). MACSSIS is an annual process whereby schools listen to the thoughts and feelings that students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
All staff, students and families of St Roch's will be invited to participate in completing the short survey to tell us what is working well and what could help make our school even better. Please take the time to watch the short video below about the survey.
We will be sending families further information about how and when they can complete this survey over the next few weeks.
Elevate and Engage
We are delighted to invite parents to a special event, Elevate and Engage - Senior Hub, on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 7:00pm where we will unveil our newly refreshed Senior School Program.
This is a unique opportunity for current St Roch's parents to gain an exclusive insight into the exciting updates and enhancements we have made to our Year 5 and our Year 6 programs.
We look forward to sharing our vision for the future in our Senior School and discussing how these changes will benefit our students, your children.
We also look forward to sharing our excellent NAPLAN results that demonstrate our staff and students' commitment to learning.
Your presence will make this event truly special. Please RSVP via CDF Pay.
State Library Excursions - Prep to Year 6
During the month of August all classes had the opportunity to visit The State Library of Victoria.
Prep to Year 3 participated in "Creating your own book" workshop and a tour of the library including the current exhibition "World of the Book".
Years 4, 5 & 6 participated in the Medieval Calligraphy Workshop and also toured the library visiting the same exhibition.
The State Library is an amazing building combining old and new areas for people of all ages to explore and enjoy, it truly is worth a visit.
All who attended must agree it is a hidden gem of Melbourne.
The library provides a wonderful Education Team to make the excursions a success, filled with knowledge and fun for the students.
A big thank you to the parents, teachers and students who attended over the three days to make this experience a great success.
We also thank Carmel Rozario, who was instrumental in the organisation and coordinating of these excursions. As the Library Technician, she certainly shares the love of reading that we want to instil in all our students.
