Dear Parents,

This week, lots of activities have occurred. Thank you to our School Spectacular parents who attended a meeting last week. Our planning for fundraising activities to help reduce the cost for children attending the 2025 Schools Spectacular has commenced. The first fundraising activity will be a colour run on Friday 17th October (Week 1 Term 4). More information will be available soon regarding this activity.

Thank you to the Year 6 parents who attended the Year 6 Farewell planning meeting on Wednesday. The parents started to plan the Year 6 Farewell which will occur on Thursday 11th December at Bathurst Panthers. Katie Lindsay is the parent coordinator of the Year 6 Farewell and will liaise with all other Year 6 parents moving forward to organise the event. Another meeting, which will be advertised, is scheduled for early Term 4.

Our boys’ basketball team played in the Regional Finals against Orange PS on Monday in Orange. Whilst we went down to Orange PS, our boys played extremely well, and the score was not a true indication of the game played. A special congratulations to all the players and Mr Datt for making it to this extremely competitive stage of the NSW knockout competition.

Our Support children attended the Bathurst Eisteddfod on Tuesday, and they were sensational. All children were awarded a medal for their performance of the Wizard of Oz. Well done to all of our children and the incredible staff (Ms Reedy, Ms Hall, Ms Nathan, Mrs Burns, Mr Jablonskis, Mrs White, Mrs Dive, Mrs Fowler, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Culham) for their support of the children.

Our Year 1 children have completed their Year 1 Phonics Screening Check on Tuesday. Our Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 children have also completed their check in assessments this week. We look forward to talking to parents about the data collected at Parent Teacher Interviews during Week 8.

Over the past weeks and utilising our Bathurst Public School Behaviour Support and Management Plan, we have opened our reflection room. This has allowed us to work with children to reflect on their behaviour choices, have restorative conversations and explicitly reteach behaviours expected at school. Children who use inappropriate language, swear or name call on the playground attend the reflection room during play time to work with Mrs Cafe. Parents will receive an email informing them if any incidence occurs. Please contact Mrs Cafe if you have any queries regarding the reflection room.

A reminder that Parent Teacher Interviews can still be booked through the Sentral Parent Portal. If any parent needs any assistance with booking an appointment, please contact the office at school. The schedule for Parent Teacher Meetings is;
