TERM 3, Week 3

We are excited to announce that our Prep students will be heading on an excursion to the McRae farm on Thursday, 4th September, as part of our Inquiry unit exploring living and non-living things. This hands-on experience will help students deepen their understanding of the natural world by observing animals, plants, and the environment in action.

We will be departing school at 9:30 a.m. and returning by approximately 2:45 p.m. Students are required to wear their sports school uniform, with closed-toe shoes that are suitable for walking around on a farm. Please send the students to school with a packed recess, fruit break, and a full water bottle. We will be providing students with a BBQ lunch at the farm.

In the lead-up to the excursion, students will learn about farm safety and discover fun and interesting facts about farm animals and crops. These lessons will help prepare them for the day and make their learning experience more meaningful.

Please note that all staff and adults assisting at the farm hold a current and valid Working With Children Check, ensuring a safe and supervised environment for all students. Students will spend the day in their home groups with their classroom teacher.

We are also pleased to share that students will not miss out on the Father’s Day Stall—items will be kept aside especially for our Prep students to enjoy once they return to school.

We look forward to a fun and educational day on the farm!

Thank you,

Ebonie, Simone and Tina
