WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to attend the worship service held in the church each Sunday at 9.30am.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Held every Tuesday during term time from 9-10.30am, Playgroup @ St Paul is for children aged 0-5 and a parent/caregiver. School families are more than welcome to come across after you have done the school drop-off. We won’t be completely set up, but you are still welcome to hang out with us.

Cost is $2 per family and your first visit is free.

Come and check out the play space, make a craft, play with playdough, explore the sensory play space, and join in with story and song time.

This week we had lots of fun drawing lions and then using forks, cotton buds or dot markers to give them bright and colourful manes.

Next week we will be looking at penguins to go with the book ‘Lost & Found’ by Oliver Jeffers.

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible reading encourages us to keep a day holy for God.  In the Bible this is known as the Sabbath and was traditionally a Saturday, as observed by the Jewish people.  Many Christians view Sunday as their Sabbath, as it was on a Sunday that Jesus rose from the dead, giving us eternal life with him.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. (Exodus 20:8)

God says: “Honour my holy day. Do not work on it. Do not do just anything you want to. Do not talk about things that are worthless. Then you will find your joy in me.”

God wants us to slow down and spend time with him and to help the people around us. Spending time with God could include a prayer time, devotion, singing a song of praise and worship or joining with other Christians in a church service.  You could help others by spending time with them, donating clothes or food to charity and aid organisations, giving your time to assist in community-based programs or many other ways.  I wonder how you will rest this coming Sabbath?

MEALTIME PRAYER

Our God, who gives us daily bread, our thanks to you we raise. Be present at our table here, and fill our hearts with praise. Amen.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, please set us free from all that cripples us. Lift us up to praise and worship you.  Amen.

BLESSING

(Name) May the joy of the Lord be your strength.  Amen.
