The Best Book of All – God’s Word

Scripture:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”Psalm 119:105

Devotion:

This week we celebrate Book Week, a time when we delight in stories that stretch our imagination, inspire us, and bring us joy. Books can take us to new places, introduce us to new characters, and help us see the world in a different way.

As Christians, we give thanks for stories because God is the greatest storyteller of all. The Bible is full of stories that remind us who God is and who we are as His children. Unlike any other book, the Bible is not just words on a page. The Bible is God’s living Word. It tells the story of God’s great love for us, shown mostly through Jesus.

Books can entertain us, but only God’s Word can truly guide us, comfort us, and give us hope that lasts forever. Just as children often return to their favourite book, we too can return again and again to the Bible. The Bible is God’s never-ending story of love, grace, and forgiveness.

Reflection:

  • How is the Bible different from other books we read?
  • How can we make reading the Bible a special part of our family’s routine?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of stories and imagination. Thank You especially for the Bible which is the greatest book of all. Thank You that it shows us Your love and truth. Help our school families to treasure Your Word, to share it with their children, and to live by it each day. Bless our reading, learning, and celebrating during Book Week. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
