Year 1
Rebecca Hughes
Over the past two weeks, Year 1 have been busy learning and exploring across a range of subjects!
In English, 1M loved performing plays for one another, as well as writing creative sentences using “when” and “while”, which they then published proudly on the Chromebooks.
In Maths, we have been learning to tell the time to the hour and half past, making links to fractions and everyday life, even discussing fun examples like how much toast is eaten in a day!
Alongside this, we have continued to focus on careful letter formation and handwriting, building fluency and confidence in our writing.
We have also been practising moving quietly around the school during learning times and entering the building in two straight lines without talking. Well done for showing great teamwork and respect for others.
We are now focussing on keeping our playground tidy. Thank you to those students who always pick up their rubbish.
In Music, the children have been exploring dynamics, and they especially enjoyed making music with both instruments and their voices to support their learning.
Year 1 have been making excellent progress and showing wonderful enthusiasm. Well done everyone!
