First Aid Incursion

Our students recently participated in an engaging and hands-on First Aid Incursion presented by St John Ambulance. 

Throughout the session, students learnt about the important role of a first aider and discovered how they can help keep themselves and others safe in an emergency.

The students were introduced to the beginning of the DRSABCD action plan, focusing on DRS:

• D – Danger: Check that the area is safe.
• R – Response: See if the person responds.

• S – Send for Help: Call for help by dialing 000.

   

Students also revised the correct protocol for calling 000, learning what information to provide and why it is important to stay calm and listen carefully to the operator. The interactive activities gave students the opportunity to practise these skills in a fun and 

supportive environment.

We are proud of the enthusiasm and participation shown by all students as they developed valuable life skills that could one day help someone in need.
