Learning

On Monday, our teachers and Inclusion Support staff participated in a full Curriculum Day focused on strengthening teaching and learning across Balambalam.

The day provided an important opportunity for staff to work together, deepen their

understanding of how students learn, and consider how we can continue to build classroom practices that support every learner. A key focus was the science of learning, including how we help students pay attention, remember new learning, practise important skills and feel supported to participate successfully in the classroom.

As a new school, this shared professional learning is especially important. It helps us continue to build consistent approaches across the school so that students experience clear routines, strong support and purposeful learning in every classroom.

I would like to sincerely thank our teachers and Inclusion Support staff for the way they engaged in the day with professionalism, curiosity and commitment to our students.

A very special thank you also goes to our three Learning Specialists, Jacqui Van, Kaitlin Baker and Nikki Kent, for the significant work they put into preparing and delivering such meaningful learning for our staff. Their leadership, knowledge and care helped make the day a great success.

Professional learning days like this are an important part of continuing to grow as a school. Most importantly, they help us keep working towards our goal of ensuring every child at Balambalam feels seen, supported and successful in their learning.

Warm regards,
