At Balambalam Primary School, we value the rich diversity of cultures, backgrounds, languages and faiths within our school community. Everyone is welcome here.
Our diversity makes our community stronger, kinder and more connected. We are committed to ensuring every student feels seen, supported and successful, and is able to learn in a safe and inclusive environment.
We have taken deliberate steps to ensure Balambalam Primary School is a place free from racism, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Creating this environment takes all of us, and we ask families to partner with us in this important work.
We encourage families to support children to:
- understand that we celebrate diversity and multicultural inclusion
- recognise the importance of treating everyone with respect
- understand that racism is taken seriously at Balambalam Primary School
- know that the school will support them if they experience or witness racism
continue talking about our TRUE values of Tenacity, Relationships, Unity and Excellence, and how these connect to belonging, safety and inclusion.

If you or your child experiences racism or any other unfair treatment, please know that we are here to help. We encourage you to speak with your child’s classroom teacher or a member of the Leadership Team. We can explain the support available, our school processes and how to raise a concern or make a complaint.
Families who would prefer not to report an incident directly to the school can contact the Department of Education’s Report Racism Hotline. The hotline is available from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
