Three Way Interviews - reflection
Thank you to our community for adapting to the new ChildSafe processes for Three Way Interviews. I hope this gave you a valuable opportunity to talk with your child's teacher about their learning and progress. If you'd like to share feedback on the Three Way Interviews, please complete the survey by clicking the link here by Friday 14th August.
Senior House Athletics
Senior House Athletics took place last Tuesday, with students and staff braving some chilly and drizzly conditions. We appreciate those who visited to support your children for adapting to the new ChildSafe processes. Thank you to all the staff who supported and ran events on the day, and a special thank you to Michelle Matthews for organising this huge event. The winning house will be announced at the next assembly.
Junior House Athletics
Junior House Athletics was held at school on Thursday. Our house captains led the events as exceptional role models, and we congratulate them on the leadership they showed throughout the day. Again, we are grateful to everyone who visited and followed the new ChildSafe processes. The winning house will be announced at next week's assembly.
Production
Our whole school production, Maria's Mask, is fast approaching, with the performance evening next Wednesday at George Wood Theatre, Yarra Valley. Please refer to the Maria's Mask Production Pageon Sentral for full details.
The Whole School Rehearsal at George Wood is also on Wednesday, during the day. Please ensure your child's permission slip has been returned so they can travel to the rehearsal by bus. A great deal of care and organisation has gone into bringing this event together, and if you haven't yet purchased tickets, we'd love for you to join us for the evening with family and friends. Balcony seating has been opened.
Fundraising Group
The Fundraising Group is meeting on Tuesday 11th August at 2:30pm in the staffroom. Whether you'd like to be involved a little or a lot, or simply find out more, you're welcome to come along.
We have some events coming up throughout Term Three and Four. Information regarding the Trivia Night has been shared, and can be found on our Fundraising Page of this Newsletter. Tickets are on sale through FlexiSchools.
Lockdown Drill
We are planning a lockdown drill for 18th August. As part of our Emergency Management Plan, one drill per term is a requirement, and a reminder will be sent to the community closer to the date.
Photographing Students
As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to capture your child's achievements and special moments to share with family and friends. Photography and filming are a wonderful way to celebrate these milestones.
I do want to gently remind our community that other students should not be included in any photos or videos you take, in line with our privacy obligations to all families. When photographing your own child, please take photos individually and away from other students.
I know this can be tricky at busy events, and it's certainly not something I enjoy having to raise with families — but I'd really appreciate your support with this, so that we can avoid situations where staff request to check photos or ask for images to be deleted. Thank you for helping us protect the privacy of all our students.
Students Voice Page
In the coming newsletters, students will share their thoughts about any aspect of school that they are interested in. They may wish to interview students or staff, share a recount or share their point of view, or draw something they have experienced. This week, students in 34I have showcased their thoughts on the Student Voice Page.
Thank you for taking the time to read this week's update. As always, if you have any questions about the events or information shared above, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office. We look forward to seeing many of you at Production evening this coming Wednesday.
