Some of our talented StMM singers will perform at the Sacred Heart Parishes Christmas Carols Concert on Sunday 8th December 2024 at 4pm. If you are free that afternoon, please come along and support them. The concert will be for 1 hour in the Church at OLSH.
This year for our Advent preparation we will focus on the Jesse Tree tradition. The Jesse Tree tradition is roosted in Isaiah 11:1 and represents the family tree or genealogy of Jesus. Each family will receive a booklet of scripture passages that teaches us about Jesus' ancestors. Each day during Advent, you are invited to read the passage from scripture together as a family, and attach a 2D ornament to your Christmas tree at home if you have one. A copy of the ornaments (which need to be coloured in) and the booklet of scripture passages will reach each family by the end of Week 7. Please check your child's school bag by the end of Week 7 for this fun filled 'take home' family Advent initiative.
All parents and carers are also welcome to join us at morning Assembly each day throughout the month of December, where we will create our school Jesse Tree. We will read a scripture passage and attach the associated ornament to the Jesse tree.
Thank you to those who expressed interest in participating in the Parent/Child Gingerbread House decorating afternoon. I am pleased to advise that this initiative will proceed. Looking forward to a fun afternoon with those who have registered to participate.
Advent Reflection Books to guide you through the season of Advent are for sale at the Parish Office for $5 for those interested. Please contact the Parish Office direct at parishoffice@sacredheart.org.au

Our final Sydney Vinnies Brekky Van service for 2024 was on Sunday 17th November 2024. It was a busy one and we served approx. 120 clients. This year in the four Vinnies Brekky Van services our team has serviced, we have cooked and served a total of:
Not to mention the countless teas, coffees and milos we have made, cereal and juice served and the loaves of sliced bread consumed. In 2025 we have 6 Vinnies Brekky Van services that our combined StMM and OLSH team will service. If you would like to join our growing team, please email me direct at lucille.gravina@syd.catholic.edu.au A heartfelt thank you to all the parent volunteers who give so generously of their time to this very important social outreach project. Without you, it would not be possible to achieve all that we do.
Go gently, every blessing
