School Production

Turn Back Time

Its ALMOST time to...TURN BACK TIME! Please read below for some important announcements...

Production Rehearsal

On Thursday 5th December, all children will be spending the day at Emmaus College for production rehearsal.  Children will travel to Emmaus College by bus and will need to be at school and ready to depart at 8.55am. Children may wear their sports uniform and need to bring their snack, lunch and drink bottle in their school bag.

Please note they do not need to bring any costumes for this rehearsal.

Children will return to school by bus at 3pm. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Production Night

On the night of the production, Thursday 5th December, please ensure that students arrive at 6:30pm (for a 6:45pm start) at Emmaus College (503 Springvale Road, Vermont South). The production will be performed in the BPAC which is situated just behind the Emmaus Admin Centre. There is plenty of parking onsite or on Hawthorn Road.

Please ensure that all students wear black or navy blue long pants (leggings or pants). They can wear any T-shirt as they will put on their (provided) costume T-shirt when they get to the BPAC.

As we will be using lighting and performing on a stage, children can have some basic stage makeup (foundation) and lipstick. Please ensure that hair is pulled back and off their face.  Children can wear trainers/runners (no open toed shoes please). Please ensure that they have a named drink bottle with water with them as they will need to stay hydrated.

Production Tickets

Tickets are free and can be "purchased" via Trybooking via this link:

https://www.trybooking.com/CXEUC

As mentioned earlier in the newsletter, families are welcome to access additional tickets, however there is still a limit of four tickets per purchase. After consultation and feedback from parents, seating is now General Admission so that families can sit together. Doors will open at 6:20pm so that families can find seats together.

What is the Production about?

As the school approaches its 50 year anniversary, a new family in the area arrives at school to attend a tour. The Principal takes the family on a school tour, and are instantly transported back to where it all began- the 1970's. As they visit each classroom they time travel through 50 years of culture and music where staff and students share things they've been learning, music that was popular to a particular era and all the things they love about their school. Get ready to listen to some fan favourites from The Jackson 5, The Rembrandts, Kenny Loggins, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue and many more as we take you on a journey that will get your feet tapping and make you want to jump up and join in!

Who is in the production?

Everyone! The children of Holy Saviour will be the STARS but you'll also see the teachers (hiding up the back) and we would even love it if parents wanted to participate. Bring your singing voices along as we are sure there will be some songs parents will know and won't be able to help themselves from joining in!

Who are the main characters?

We were so impressed with how many students auditioned (over 20!) to participate in the play and have a lead role or speaking part.

Our main speaking roles will be played by:

Narrator - Indy Hudson

Principal - Micah Klidomitis

Parents on Tour - Sarah Pemberton and Thomas Eddington

Teachers -Teresa Pynadath, Bethany De Silva, Alyssa Theodoratos, Zahra Nagra, and Emma Wong

....Plus, plenty more students from all the grades have speaking and acting roles!

What date will the production be on?

Thursday 5th December at 6:45pm (arrive at 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start)

Where will the production be held?

Emmaus College has provided us with access to their Performing Arts Centre to use to showcase our production on the night (5th December).

Is it compulsory for my child to attend the production?

Yes. The production is a compulsory school event. Students will be working on the production during school time in Term 4 to learn lines and songs and we do require all students to be present the evening of the production.
