Carmel Chalmers Scholarship
Congratulations to all students who took part in the Carmel Chalmers scholarship this year. Donated in memory of Carmel Chalmers, a former staff member of St Philip's College who was a passionate historian and a proud Centralian, the scholarship challenges students to research a Central Australian and explain their legacy.
Students selected a range of figures including Alfred Traeger, Chris Tudor, Dawn Severin, John Flynn, Olive Pink and Rona Glynn. They were then interviewed by a panel of judges and given the opportunity to speak about their work.
Ultimately, Sanvi Silwal was selected as the recipient of this year’s award. Well done, Sanvi! We would like to thank the friends and family of Carmel Chalmers for providing St Philips’ students with this opportunity.
