Principal's Message

School Captains
It was with great pleasure that we interviewed our shortlisted candidates for our School Captain positions for 2025. The nominated children presented a short speech to Nicole Tierney, Eames (one of our current school captains) and myself as part of the school captain selection process and responded to a few interview questions.
It is a great honour to be nominated for school captain and all nominees should feel very proud that they were recognised by their teachers as great leaders of our school.
Congratulations to:
School Captains - Jack Ferry and Isla Jenkins
Vice School Captains – Jem Ryan and Dahla Armistead
Congratulations to Jay Murray, Archie Conway, Tyler Puddy, Eva Zimmermann, Charlotte Suckling and Maisie Le Fevre who were nominated for the school captain positions.
All other leadership positions will be decided early next year.
Christmas Carols -Monday 9th December
We had to make a tough decision guided by the best information we could find in regard to the weather for this week’s planned Christmas Carol evening. We are fortunate that we have a back up date and we’re looking forward to a wonderful event on Monday 9 December.
We will begin the evening at 5pm for those who wish to purchase from the sausage sizzle or food vans. We have ice cream vans, a coffee truck and a poffertjes stall. All profits from the sausage sizzle will be going towards the new playground.
Families are welcome to bring their own picnic dinner as well.
We will begin the Carols performances at 6pm and should be concluding the evening by no later than 7:30pm.
2025 Transition Sessions
Our children will be meeting their 2025 teachers and classmates on Tuesday 10 December and spend part of the first session in their new classrooms.
The teachers will be sharing about their lives including their hobbies, families and interests and will be sending home a ‘getting to know you’ sheet for their new students and families to complete. We hope that it will ensure that our teachers are more familiar with their new students, which should make for an effective beginning to the new school year.
The focus of our wellbeing assembly this week was on uncomfortable feelings that we get when we try something new and providing strategies for dealing with the anxiety of feeling unsettled.
Our wellbeing co-ordinator Jess Brown spoke about the positives of being in a class with different children and a new teacher. She also spoke about the importance of making a wide circle of friends and that all classes do plenty of activities together throughout the year which provides plenty of socialising opportunities.
Special Christmas Day – Thursday December 19th
We are holding our Christmas Fun Day on our final day school day of the year, Thursday 19 December. We would love it if all children could dress up in Christmas clothes or Christmas colours for the day.
Class parties will also be held on Thursday 19 December. We are expecting a visit from Santa at 12pm, all are welcome to attend and join in the fun. The last day will be a full day at school with dismissal at 3:30pm.

Foundation – Year 2 Swimming Lessons beginning December 9th
The long awaited Foundation – Year 2 swimming lessons begin next week. I have had children ask me all week how many sleeps until they get to go swimming!
Parent Helper’s Afternoon Tea – Tuesday 10th December at 2:30pm
As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank all our parents and community helpers and acknowledge the contribution they make to our school. We would like to invite parents who have helped at school in any capacity throughout the year to a special helpers ’ afternoon tea on Tuesday 10 December at 2:30pm in the courtyard.
Colour Fun Run photos
You would have received a Compass notification this week with downloadable photos from the Colour Fun Run. These beautiful photos were taken by Danica from Danica Louise Photography who is the parent of Ari from Foundation.
Danica also took photos at our school productions this year. We love her work and want to give Danica a big shout out for the time she has taken to produce such stunning photographs.
If you’re looking for family photos or any photography work, please contact Danica.
