This Week At OOPS
Year 1 Dinner
The Years 1s had a fantastic time at the dinner! After a delicious fruit platter, students enjoyed participating in activities such as circus skills, parachute games, giant board games and chalk drawing. Of course the Year 1 dinner would not be complete without pizza! The Year 1s went home with big smiles and full bellies!
Prep Fairytale Inquiry
The Preps continued their fairytale unit this past week by reading the story Jack and The Beanstalk. During Discovery, the Construction station saw beautiful 'castles in the clouds' and the Collage station had some wonderful beanstalks happening. During their Buddies session, they designed and built creative ways for Jack to get down from the Giant's castle in the clouds with the help of their Grade 6 buddies.
From ladders and slides to parachute and jetpacks, Jack is certainly spoilt for choice!
Drama Incursion
On Thursday, specially selected students participated in the Next Stage Workshop run by Drama Victoria. The students created their own tableaux (a frozen scene) depicting various locations, used drama activities to explore concepts such as leadership and global citizenship and performed their own short plays all about how countries can deal with problems such as littering. Thank you to Rebekah from Drama Victoria for running such interesting and joyful sessions!
Bike Parade
It was great to see so many students participate in ride/walk to school for the past two weeks. The bike parade on Friday was lots of fun!
Kitchen Garden
Our Year 4 students were busy harvesting in the veggie garden today. They collected bucket loads of broad beans and apricots - delicious!
