Year 5 and 6 Lacrosse - STATE CHAMPIONS
Amazing News from last Friday ... The girls Year 6 Lacrosse team are now STATE champions!! What a wonderful achievement. They did amazingly and won every game including the final!

In the same State championships the Year 5 boys also did really well, finishing 3rd in the STATE!! Narrowly losing in the Semi Final to Williamstown Primary. Great effort from all the boys involved.

FREE Play Balls
At the end of the year I will be replacing most of the play time balls. If any parent/student would like to take any of the existing balls for general home play you are more than welcome.
I will leave the tubs out on Tuesday December 17th at pick up time - Please help yourself to any balls that are in the tubs

2025 Swimming Carnival - (Years 2 to 5)
Over the next week, with the assistance of their class teacher, the students will be picking their events to take part in at next year's Swim carnival, so this might be an opportune time to talk to them about swimming throughout the summer!
A reminder that they can do as many events as they wish, but can only do either the 25m or 50m event in each stroke. If they can't swim unaided there is also a kickboard race. All swims will gain points for their House.

2025 Team Vic State Selection Process
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Team Vic Applications are now open for students in Year 6 and exceptional Year 5s Please see below for more details.
The following is to provide you with information about the School Sport Victoria Team. Vic trials for 12 years and under teams in all sports but particularly the sports of Australian Rules Football, Netball, cricket, Football (Soccer) and Basketball for 2025. To be eligible to participate in the trial process:
Students must be nominated and endorsed by their school initially.
Each of these children needs to register online, if they wish to proceed.
Each school is only allowed a maximum of three (3) students for each sport mentioned above to attend these trials so it’s important that as a school, we acknowledge the capacity and ability of these nominated students to be able to participate well in these trials. It needs to be emphasized that these trials form part of School Sport Victoria’s
Gifted and Talented program and are not ‘come and try’ opportunities.
Each child is trialling for a State Team and as such we must attest to each child’s athleticism, elite skill level, previous high level achievements in a particular sport and their school behaviour.
You are invited to register your child online for selection to trial, once you have emailed and been approved by Colin Edwards cedwards@spmentone.catholic.edu.au.
Mr Edwards and Mr Berlingeri will determine whether your child is of a suitable age and skill level to partake in the trials. As these trials are for Under 12’s, St Patrick’s generally only allows those who are 12 or are turning 12 to partake in the trials.
Your trial form may then be endorsed by the principal.
