End of School Year Mass and Prep Nativity
You are invited to attend our special celebration on Friday 13th December, 1pm, Immaculate Conception Church, Hastings. We hope to see you there!
Thank you for your generosity and support of the St Vincent de Paul Annual Christmas Hamper Appeal.
Today the Year 6 Mini Vinnie's and Miss Dullard, along with students and staff from St Joseph's and St Brendan's, will be packing the Christmas hampers with members from the Western Port St Vincent de Paul Conference.
The Western Port St Vincent de Paul members will then distribute the Christmas hampers to help make Christmas a bit brighter for those in need.
Faith Overview Term 4, Weeks 9 & 10
Throughout the season of Advent, we can be agents of peace and help others in our school and local community enjoy the spirit of Christmas. One way we are doing this at St Mary's is by participating in the Vinnie’s Christmas Appeal and also by writing Christmas cards for the residents of The Bays Aged Care.
The students are currently making Christmas cards for the residents. The Grade 1s and 2s will then deliver them when they visit The Bays and sing Christmas carols on Monday 9th December.
On Tuesday 19th November, our Grade 4 DRI 'i sea i care' ambassadors had their final coastal excursion for the year at Jacks Beach in Bittern. We started the day with an incredibly insightful fauna walk with local rangers from Naturelinks, followed by an engaging session with Skyla from Living Culture, learning about First Nations traditional uses for possum cloaks, different boomerangs and their uses. The students then worked collaboratively on a fire making task; they persisted and nearly produced some smoke. Skyla gave us a lesson in spear throwing and students were then invited to have a go. We finished the day with a special presentation by Ellie and Jacqui from Dolphin Research Institute.
