Welcome to our fifth edition of St. Margaret’s e-Smart News for 2025. We will continue to explore and share a variety of e-Safety topics and websites during 2025 so please keep a look out and watch this space.

 

 

Term 1 Autumn Code Camp: - 

 

Details of our Autumn Code Camp have now been released. The Autumn Code Camp at St. Margaret's will be taking place at St. Margaret's during Tuesday 8 April 2025 through to Thursday 10 April 2025. The Code Camp Flyer is enclosed in this newsletter. 

 

Inform and Empower Parent Resources: - 

 

Inform & Empower is another e-Safety Trusted Provider which contains some great resources and video links for parents. A link to these resources can be found below. Various levels will be watching online webinars throughout Term 1 on various important topics.

e-Safety Parent Resources and Webinars: - 

 

Some fantastic e-Safety resources containing advice and tips can be found using this link. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents It is highly recommended for parents to have a look and explore the useful resources available from the eSafety Commissioner website. 

 

2025 Webinars will be held in May and June this year on the topic of "Understanding and using parental controls to help protect your child online". 

 

Parental controls can be a useful addition to the strategies you use to help protect your child online. Parental controls can help protect children and young people by preventing access to harmful content, as well as helping manage time spent online and who they communicate with.

 

The webinar will help parents to find out about:

  • the types of parental controls available and how to set them for your child’s safety including smart devices, in apps, gaming platforms and computers
  • using parental controls with other online safety strategies to help your child build digital and critical skills to have safer experiences online.
