Food and Allergies
Parents, please remind your children that there is to be NO sharing of food at school. This is to protect children with serious food allergies (both known and unknown). Thank you for your support with this request.
We have a number of children at our school who have food allergies. These allergies range from minor, through to life threatening. It is not only nuts that these children are allergic to, we need to be cautious of all foods. To ensure we maintain a safe environment for these children it is essential that the rules listed below are followed. Also, if your child has a friend who has food allergies try to ensure your child is educated about this and if they have the food that causes the allergic reaction in their lunch box that they tell their friend and teacher.
NO peanut butter or any foods that include peanuts are permitted to be brought to school. It is imperative that our children's well being and safety rules are adhered to by all of our school community.
Please also remember:
· No sharing of food
· No nut products at school
· Parents are not to offer other children food during school times
· Washing of hands after eating
More information on food allergies and their potential danger can be found at:
Working With Children
A reminder that all parents are welcome to volunteer at the school in various areas, e.g. canteen, school excursions and classroom help. You will need to obtain a working with children card to be able to do this. Applications can now be completed online at
www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au
Once the online application has been completed it should be printed and lodged at Australia Post. There is no charge for a Working with Children check for volunteers.
As directed and mandated by the government we are unable to allow parents without a WWC card to volunteer at school.
Community Business Directory
Included on our School Website is a Business Directory under the tab “School Community”. The purpose of this directory is to promote business opportunities within our community for parents of our school. If you are a tradesman, hairdresser, house cleaner - whatever your business is then this listing is FREE for you. Businesses not connected to the school will pay an annual fee. If you would like to have your business listed please see the office for a form.
