Il vaut mieux annoncer d’emblée la couleur : Saint-Ex n’est pas un biopic sur Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Il ne l’est pas et c’est tant mieux car comment faire rentrer dans un film la vie hors du commun, l’incroyable destinée et toute la richesse de celui qui créa Le Petit Prince, l’œuvre littéraire la plus traduite au monde après la Bible (soit 535 langues et dialectes différents) ? Impossible. Saint-Ex n’est donc pas un biopic, il est bien plus passionnant que cela : il capture à travers le récit d’une semaine seulement de la vie de Saint-Exupéry toute la singularité de son univers, toute la poésie de son œuvre en même temps que la folie magnifique de ce grand aventurier aviateur et de ses semblables.

It's best to make it clear from the outset: Saint-Ex is not a biopic about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It isn't, and that's a good thing, because how can you capture the extraordinary life, incredible destiny, and all the richness of the man who created The Little Prince, the most translated literary work in the world after the Bible (535 different languages ​​and dialects), in a film? Impossible. Saint-Ex is therefore not a biopic, it is much more exciting than that: it captures through the story of just one week in the life of Saint-Exupéry all the singularity of his universe, all the poetry of his work at the same time as the magnificent madness of this great aviator adventurer and his peers.
