Reading
Over the past fortnight in Reading, Foundation students focused on developing their prediction skills. They practiced making predictions based on the book's cover, anticipating events while reading, identifying the climax, and considering possible endings. Additionally, students reinforced their skills in segmenting, blending, and decoding words, helping them read more fluently and deepen their understanding of texts.

Writing
The Foundation cohort have been busy working on their writing skills! They focused on two important learning goals; completing missing parts of sentences and writing simple sentences of their own. As a class, students engaged in Dr. Seuss texts and used the stories to build simple sentences together. They also reviewed forming some of the tricky letters such as b vs d, f vs t, m vs w, and p vs q. The foundation students continue to build their writing skills through class games, weekend recounts, and exciting stories!
