Wominjeka Everyone,
It was Harmony week last week and at OSHC one of the ways we are celebrating our school community's diversity was by creating a 'tree' made up of all our hands and in the hands are flags from all the different countries we or our families come from.I had a small group of children who created a hand with a countries flag that represents their connection to this country. Whilst we were making, we had conversations about connections to other countries and shared stories about our families. It was a beautiful way to connect with one another and highlighted the diversity of families at our school. This project continued throughout week.” Ella (Educator).Children will still have the opportunity to contribute to the Harmony Tree this week, if they didn’t have a chance last week. The Harmony Tree is displayed on the window at OSHC.
