Our Focus in Art at the moment is Collage and Composition. Juniors have looked at the work of Albert Namatjira. We identified the layers of distance within the landscapes and the iconic ghost gum in the foreground to one side of the frame. Students then worked to create a layered landscape by folding a long sloping shape and adding a collage focal point to the foreground. There have been some very proud artists!

Middles students have looked at the dreamy collage landscapes of Kate Shaw that all have a reflected symmetry. Middles have spent several sessions using various techniques such as chalk marbling, wet on wet watercolour, salt on ink, to create beautiful paper to then collage to create their own reflected landscapes. I hope you have some wall space free – they are stunning.
