Interschool Tennis

It was the 6th of March when Truganina College tennis team went to the Wyndham Division Tennis Competition in Saltwater.

The team included Roohaan, Ira, Jaden, Eddie, Kawan, Medhansh and me (Svanik). The format was a fast 4 format, including singles and doubles.

In the first round we played against Wyndham Vale.

All matches were won by Truganina 4-0.

In the second round again, we won all matches 4-0.

The final team was Werribee.

If we lost this round, we would not qualify for regionals.

I won my single 4-2. Roohaan lost his singles 2-4. That meant that we couldn’t afford to lose the doubles match. We made it to match point, and I hit a forehand down the line for a winner that won us the match and got Truganina through to regionals.

It was a very important win because we made history in making the regional level of competition. Our coach, Mr Nure, bought us Slurpee’s as a reward. We trained hard with one dream: to become great tennis players in the regionals and show our fellow students that our dreams can come true if we work beyond our limits.
