Learning Specialists

I am thrilled to announce that this years LEAP Reading program starts in term 2, an extension program for 20 high-ability students across Grades 3 to 6.
This coming term, our keen readers will take on the exciting challenge of shadow judging the 2025 CBCA Book of the Year Awards, diving deep into this year’s shortlisted books and engaging in rich discussions about what makes a truly outstanding story.
Adding to the excitement, we will have the incredible opportunity to meet award-winning author Gabriel Bergmoser! Students will gain firsthand insights into the writing and publishing process, deepening their appreciation for storytelling.
I can’t wait to see our students grow as critical readers and passionate literary critics. Stay tuned for updates on their insights and final book selections!
Mr Ryan Bartok
This term has been an exciting one with respect to Maths. Our revised Victorian Curriculum (Version 2.0) has been successfully implemented across the school.
Teachers are still becoming familiar with the changes but the collaborative planning time that each Professional Learning Community has each week has generated valuable discussion within teams of how this is implemented in the team. This results in authentic and challenging tasks for students to engage in and build their confidence as mathematicians.
In preparation for Term 2, our Foundation students have been introduced to Number Talks. They were asked how many dots they saw on the card and, importantly, how they saw them. Number Talks takes place across every year level and it encourages the development of number sense and the ability to justify a student thinking. Here are a few maths snapshots of the last week of school:
