The Careers team run workshops to assist.
- Resume: Thursday at lunchtime 1.15pm- 1.45pm. Bring your laptop.
- Job Search, Interview Skills Sessions: Wednesday 1.15pm- 1.45pm

Did you know.... Work experience placements can increase a student's motivation to
undertake further education or training after high school. Work experience is an opportunity for you to gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment.
FAQ
Is work experience compulsory?
Yes, work experience is compulsory for all year 10 students.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, you must be 15 at the time of your placement.
Is work experience paid?
Work experience is paid at a min rate of $5 per day by the employer. Some exemptions exist
where payment may not be required. Remember this is a learning opportunity not a job.
Can I do work experience during a different week?
Only if the placement is highly valuable, alternative dates require approval so please discuss
with a member of the Careers team.
Where can’t I do work experience?
Overseas or interstate or in dangerous or hazardous workplaces.
When will I get my work experience pack?
All students received their packs in week 4 during mentor. If you need another please come to the Careers office to collect.
Empowering Women In Trade
Designed to inspire female students to explore the world of skilled trades. Students have the opportunity to get hands on experience with the tools. This incursion is for the first 30
female identifying students in year 9 to attend and explore career pathways and options in
trades.
