日本語 Japanese

こんにちは(Konnichiwa) from Japanese class!

In Harmoney week, we had an opportunity to celebrate Australia's cultural diversity and made rice balls "the traditional Japanese lunch menu" together. Simple and full filled and everyone enjoyed to make rice ball. I introduced ゆかり”Yukari”(Shiso Rice Seasoning)which you can buy from Asian shop.

Grades 4 to 6 have been introduced to some nature kanji and learned to express the existence of things or animals/people.  They made their Japanese gardens individually this week and practiced how we say existence by using あります(arimasu) and います(imasu). Grades 2 and 3 also made Japanese gardens as well to use some kanji to explain their gardens.

Japanese gardens express the flow of mountains, seas, and floating islands using sand and rocks without water. Students made the miniature version of this meditative and calming space, and they took it home today to show and share with you what they created. I hope you will be fascinated to see those beautiful gardens and that they do not make too much mess at home.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and inquiries!
