Prep A: Learning about Time in Mathematics

This term, Prep A has been learning about sequencing events and understanding the concept of time, including the days of the week and how to order events. Through fun and engaging activities, learners have been able to use words like 'first,' 'next,' and 'last' to describe the order of their daily routines. They have reflected on their favourite days of the week, sharing some wonderful insights!

Key Learning Highlights:

• Sequencing Events: Students learned how to sequence events in their day, understanding the order of actions, such as washing hands before playing.
• Time and Routine: They practiced identifying key moments of the day, including mornings, afternoons, lunchtime, and bedtime, and shared their preferences.
• Days of the Week: Learners explored the days of the week, recognizing the difference between weekdays and weekends, and discussed their favourite times of the day.

Maths Learning Time:

• Thinel: "My favourite day of the week is Monday because on Monday we get to do the Resilience Project and learn how to say all the letters and sounds."
• Viraaj: "My favourite day is Sunday because I can spend time with my family, Kriyansh comes to my house for play dates."
• Aaron: "My favourite day of the week is Sunday because I get to sleep in."
• Sohum: "My favourite day is Wednesday because it is Icy pole day."
• Yenaya: "I love weekdays because we get to go to school and play with my friends and learn new things."
• Oneki: "I go to swimming on Fridays."
• Thinara: "Weekends are my favourite because I can spend time and see my cousin."

• Kriyansh: "I like mornings because I can play with my Dad."
• Ivy: "I like the morning."
• Isaac: "I love night time because I like to play games with family."
• Niwan: "I love the afternoon because I can play with my brother."
• Teyara: "I love lunch time because I get to eat my yummy lunch and play with my friends."
• Ishi: "We have school on weekdays."
• Mary: "Today is Monday."
• Diviyna: "First it is important to do my learning and studies and then I can go outside and play."
• Myra: "In Maths we learnt about ordering time, what comes first, next, and last."
• Vivaansh: "First wash your hands with soap, next dry your hands, and lastly you can play."
• Aekarsh: "I like Tuesday because my mummy picks me up, sometimes I get a chocolate."
• Jabir: "On Monday mornings we have assembly."
• Reyan: "My favourite time is the afternoon because I get to play with my cars."
• Deniz: "I love weekdays because we have school on those days."
• Methu: "I love Wednesday because sometimes we have Mind Body Us."
• Thiseli: "Weekends are Saturday and Sunday." 

It's been wonderful to see Prep A students explore the concepts of time, sequence, and their daily routines.
