A great movie to see in the holidays …..
I received an email last week about an exciting movie that is going to hit the cinemas on 19th April. And it sounds FABULOUS !!!
This animated film, featuring an all-star cast including Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Mark Hamil, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Forest Whitaker, and Oscar Isaac, brings to life the story of Jesus Christ through the imaginative lens of Charles Dickens narrating to his son, Walter. I have watched the trailer and it looks GREAT !!!
You too can watch the trailer here:
Each Tuesday morning before school, the Staff of OLF gathered in Prayer to reflect on the weekly reading for each week in Lent. It was a chance to stop, reflect and pray together while looking deeply into the Scriptural passage for that week.
"Almighty God, help me to embrace this season of repentance and renewal, to strengthen my faith, and to grow closer to you through prayer, fasting, and acts of service."
The students of OLF will commemorate ANZAC Day on their return to school on the 28th April. This service will take place at 10.15am in the school hall.
The Church Liturgical Season of Easter extends from fifty days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday - 19th May. During this season you will notice that in classroom prayer spaces and in the Church the colour of vestments and cloths has changed from purple to white or gold. These colours represent joy and festivity. White also symbolises the Resurrection.
During the Tuesday morning Assembly Year 4W will lead us in a reflection on the Resurrection. Please join us if you are able to.
I wanted to let you know that next term I am taking some long service. During this time Mrs Erin Wing and Mrs Gabby Devine will step into the role as Acting Religious Education Coordinators. I know you will make them welcome.
For me, it will be a chance to spend a bit more precious time with my 97 year old Mum, my husband Peter and my family.
Please know that the families of OLF are always in my thoughts and Prayers and I look forward to hearing about all that the term brings.
God bless and have a safe holiday together as a family …..when it comes at the end of the week.
