What exciting learning we have been doing at WRPS!

Kindergarten

KJ

KJ have made wonderful progress in Term 1, establishing rules and structures that have become very familiar. We went on a principal hunt and found Mr Harris in his office. We enjoyed Harmony Day and have planted our pea seedlings we raised into the big garden. We hope to be eating them during Crunch and Sip time. KJ performed Jack and the Beanstalk in assembly and released a butterfly that emerged from a chrysalis that came from Mrs Colemans’ garden. We used clay to make pinch pots which we will fire in the kiln after the holidays. As well as having lots of fun learning experiences in the class. But we are also looking forward to our Easter holidays!

KP

KP have had an amazing start to their school life. What a busy term with so many new and exciting things to learn… school routines and expectations,  making new friends and learning new maths and English concepts. Along with all those other fun subjects, like history and science where they have looked at families and how digital technologies help our daily lives. Students enjoyed their fortnightly SISA sessions and have learned and enhanced many skills.

They showed their talents making emotions with play dough and tried to make that emotion on their own face. The students have used lots of different hands-on materials to solve math problems. Learning while playing… but don’t tell them that as the students think they are just playing 😊

We finished the term with the cross country carnival and the Easter Hat parade . Lots of fun!

All students have well and truly settled into school life and we are all looking forward to the rest of the year. But first, we are all looking forward to a rest over the school holidays. Enjoy!

K/6 Koalas

Our Koalas had a fantastic time on their excursion to Event Cinemas! We took the two school buses to Macarthur Square and used our road safety knowledge to walk through the carpark.

K/6 Koalas were very surprised to find out that our film would be shown in Gold Class! Each student got a drink and popcorn in their lavish recliner seats, watching the film in style. A big thank you to Mrs McKenzie’s sister Teoni for the unforgettable experience.

We can’t wait for another exciting excursion this year.

Stage 1

Stage One has had a fantastic start to the year! We have settled into our learning routines and are making great strides in our literacy and numeracy skills. This term has been filled with exciting highlights, including our fun run and the delightful Easter Hat Parade. We are so proud of our students for their hard work and enthusiasm. Here’s to more wonderful experiences as we continue our learning journey!

3/4M

We have been so incredibly busy since the last newsletter! So much has happened and we have really enjoyed getting to know each other more and more. Some of the events that have been happening for 3/4M include our 2025 school photos, Harmony Day and a bunch of other fun activities. Not only have 3/4M participated in interesting activities outside of the classroom but we have also been completing lots of exciting learning activities in the classroom! Some of which include, learning about the measurement of length and time in mathematics, and learning to keep each other and ourselves safe in PD/H. As well as creating some really fun art that represents the ocean and the animals that live in it. We are all really looking forward to all the exciting things Term 2 will bring!

4LH Update

Term 1 has absolutely flown by! We have enjoyed getting to know all the students in 4LH this term and we look forward to continuing to learn new things about our amazing students as we head into Term 2.

This term we have been busy in the classroom learning new things and making new friends. We’re becoming curious about the solar system in English and exploring measurement in maths. For one of our measurement lessons, our task was to measure the length of our foot in centimetres and millimeters. Some of the students even had a bigger foot than Mrs Loveday!

We have lots of fun-filled experiences coming up next term and can’t wait to see what’s next on our adventure in Year 4!

Year 6 Buddy Leaders Bring Easter Joy!

Our amazing Year 6 Buddy Leaders had a fantastic time spreading Easter cheer throughout the classrooms this week! With big smiles, boundless energy, and plenty of chocolate, they led fun activities, shared stories, and helped make the Easter celebrations extra special for our younger students. It was heartwarming to see their leadership and enthusiasm in action, and the joy they brought to every classroom was contagious. A big thank you to our Buddy Leaders for their creativity, kindness, and for making Easter so memorable!
