Middle School News

Well, how we are here in Week 10 is beyond me! The Middle School has had a phenomenol first term of 2025, setting the bar high for what is going to be a wonderful rest of the year. As staff, we would like to thank you, the parents and carers of these beautiful children, for your ongoing support.

This weeks Newsletter is slightly different, as we look back on the term and all of our achievements. Have a safe a restful break and we look forward to seeing you all back for an action packed term.

Reconciliation

What a beautiful way for our Year 3 students to end Week 9 with Reconciliation. The students must be commended for the way in which they conducted themselves on both Retreat Day (Thursday) and Reconciliation (Friday). It was an absolute pleasure working with the children in the lead up to the celebration. Please see Miss Maloney’s Religious Education section for more details.

Thank you to the Year 4 students and their teachers for the beautiful artwork gifted to the Year 3 students for Reconciliation.

Buddies

An exciting aspect of Year 4 is becoming the “bigger buddy” for the first time. The students have been paired up with Year 2 students as a way to develop their leadership skills and responsibilities as they transition into the upper end of the school.

Ms Porter and Ms Collins, along with Miss Flynn (Year 2), cannot speak highly enough of our wonderful Year 4 students. They are a cohort of born leaders which leaves Sacred Heart in such a privileged position in 2 years time!

They have been reading with their buddies, as well as doing arts and crafts activities and sharing lunch together.

Bookwork Presentation

A big expectation schoolwide is that students take pride in their work and it is done to a high standard. We are thrilled to share some of the amazing work that has been happening this term.

Easter Rotations

The Middle Years team took the invaluable opportunity to come together to learn about the Easter Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday). The children did 3 rotations focusing on each day individually. Collaboratively, artwork representing each day of the Triduum was composed and we look forward to displaying it soon.

On a side note, I (Mrs McGrath) was so excited to spend some time with the beautiful Year 4s, and Ms Porter and Ms Collins loved getting to know the Year 3s!

So long, farewell!

It is with great sadness that we bid this young man a fond farewell. What an adventure you are about to endure moving up the coast! You have been an invaluable member of Sacred Heart and a dear friend to all. 4P won't be the same without you. You have made us extremely proud and we wish you the very best for your adventures that await☺️

Middle School Acievements

Welcome to our new member of staff!

Mrs McGrath is no longer needed in 3M due to the amazing teaching of this young man. Without any prior notice, he lead the class in our MSL review of the 'Pitch rule', and my goodness, he did a fantastic job!

Puppy alert!

4P loved welcoming this furry member into their classroom last week! Juno was a delight to meet.

Oragami Expert!

We are so lucky to have a student who has such a passion and expertise in oragami. He lead 3M in an oragami session to create hearts for Reconciliation.
