Year 5 & 6

Year 5 & 6 students are celebrating their exploration of the iconic works of Yayoi Kusama, the mesmerising concept of infinity nets, and their imaginative paper mache pumpkins!

Our Year 5 and 6 students have been captivated by the kaleidoscopic world of Yayoi Kusama, a renowned Japanese artist known for her immersive installations and striking use of polka dots. Drawing inspiration from her iconic style, students have embarked on a journey of creativity and self-expression. Central to Kusama's body of work are her mesmerising "Infinity Nets," intricate paintings characterised by repetitive patterns and a sense of endlessness. Through their own interpretations of infinity nets, students have explored concepts of repetition, symmetry, and artistic expression.

In addition to their study of Kusama's work, students have embraced the playful spirit of the season by crafting paper mache pumpkins. Guided by their imagination, they've transformed simple materials into whimsical works of art, each pumpkin a unique reflection of their creativity.
