'Day' Music Camp

 The ‘Day Music Camp’ will be held on Friday 26th July term 3. 

 

All co-curricular musicians are required to attend. Morning tea and lunch will be provided. 

 

Day Music Camp will provide an excellent opportunity to continue working on the new repertoire purchased for the Yarramundi camp was well as begin preparing the ensembles for the Whole School Concert on 26th August. 

 

Day Music Camp will be held in the PAC commencing immediately after tutor group. We are looking forward to a very productive day of Music making.  

The UME Piano Competition 

Students are invited to showcase their musical talent at the  UME Online Piano Competition in June 2024, proudly sponsored by KAWAI, MUSESCORE, and PIANO TEACHING SUCCESS. This global event is open to pianists of all ages and levels, welcoming all genres and offering a unique opportunity for emerging pianists to receive detailed written feedback from esteemed judges Vatche Jambazian and Michelle Madder. 

 

With incredible prizes available, students should book their spot between June 1 and June 30, and submit their performance files by June 30. This is a great chance to shine on this international stage and celebrate the universal language of music! 

Australian Youth Orchestra

AYO are calling all aspiring musicians and arts leaders: audition excerpts and portfolio requirements are now available. 

 

First time applicants and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend our information webinar on  Monday 17 June, 5pm AEST.  Register here! 

 

AYO is one of the world’s most prestigious and innovative training organisations for young musicians. 

 

Our training pathway has been created to nurture the musical development of Australia’s finest young instrumentalists across metropolitan and regional Australia: from the emerging, gifted, school-aged student to those on the verge of a professional career. AYO presents tailored training and performance programs each year for aspiring musicians, composers, arts administrators and music journalists aged 12 to 30. 

 

This year AYO is also offering a fee waiver for First Nations Applicants.

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Paddy Humby who obtained an A (Honours) pass in his recent 8th Grade AMEB Practical Examination. Paddy has also been selected to participate in the Queensland Conservatorium State Honours program September 26 - 29 this year.

Fri 7 June: Winter Ball band rehearsal, Recital Room 7.15pm

Sat 8 June:  Winter Ball, Fairmont Resort – Stage Band musicians to meet at 7.30pm

Thu 20 June:  Music Soirée, Recital Room 7pm

Fri 26 July: Day Music Camp, on-site at the PAC, 8.50-3.00pm, for students who attended Music Camp at Yarramundi

Fri 23 August: Whole School Concert, Cuff Hall
