From the TAS Department
Stage 6 Design & Technology
At the end of last term and this term, both Year 12 and Year 11 Design and Technology classes respectively have travelled to see the 2024 Shape Exhibition in Sydney, which showcases the best HSC Major Works from Design and Technology from the previous year.
After catching the train into the city we walked a short way to the exhibition at Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay, where we got to view the major works of previous students and their accompanying design portfolios. There was a vast range, including a wind turbine, furniture and short films expanding on the specific Major Design Project. After this we had two really influential and informative seminars, one which explained the marking guidelines for the course by a HSC Senior Marker and another which was hosted by a real world designer who talked to us about her career in design and how she uses the Design Process to develop their work. When the seminars had finished we had one final look at the exhibition and then started walking back to the train station. Then, after a quick stop at Maccas we headed back home.
