Foundation Excursion to The Royal Botanical Gardens

To consolidate our inquiry unit into ‘how things in the environment change with the seasons’, our Foundation students embarked on their first excursion to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Immersed in a variety of activities, from planting native flowers to exploring The Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden, we discovered the magical world of plants.

We climbed rocks, ventured under the roots of trees, and weaved through tall, green bamboo. By the pond, we listened for frogs, birds, and insects, and guarded our lunches from cheeky magpies and pigeons.

We marvelled at the towering trees, threw leaves into the air, and basked in the winter sunshine.

As we made our way home, we smelled the dried rose petals and lavender tucked into our pockets and napped during the ride back.

What a wonderful day we had! What did you enjoy the most?

Refugee Week

Refugee Week is an annual event held from Sunday 16th to Saturday 22nd of June. This week provides a unique opportunity for us to learn about the experiences of people who have sought refuge and asylum and celebrate their valuable contributions to our community.

Our school community is fortunate to have many refugee families, each with their own stories of resilience and courage. During Refugee Week, we engaged with our students in meaningful discussions about displacement, cultural diversity, and empathy.
