ATHLETICS COACHING ~ TERM 2

We would like to thank Mr Andrew Frend from Zoom Athletics for visiting our school in Term 2 to facilitate athletics skills for all of our students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. Thank you also to the Australian Government's Sporting Schools Grant for giving us this wonderful opportunity, which may not have happened without their generous grant.

Our very last session concentrated on discus. Many thanks to Heidi Hardaker for allowing us to utilise the discus nets.

High Jump ~ Carnival Event

Last Friday, the students refined their high jumping skills or practised for the very first time. Well done to all the boys and girls for getting in and participating to the best of their ability.  All students K-6 will participate in High Jump for sport this Wednesday, which will be the High Jump event for the Athletics Carnival. This is done at school so that we do not have to transport all of the equipment to the oval next week.

If your son or daughter wears track pants to school, please get them to bring in school shorts or skorts to change into.

SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

The School Athletics Carnival is fast approaching and the date is Wednesday 3rd July (Week 10) at Jubilee Oval. If you are able to help on the day, either in the canteen, timekeeping or at an event that would be wonderful. Please let Robyn know in the office if you are available to help in any way. A Compass Event will be pushed out this week, so parents are reminded to keep an eye out for this notification to give their child permission to participate. Please ensure that you take notice of the due date for this event. We MUST have permission for your child to walk to Jubilee Oval and participate in events.

All students will arrive at school as normal, and class rolls will be marked. Students are encouraged to wear clothes that represent the house colour they are in. Namoi is Blue, and Cox is Yellow. Please ensure no singlet tops are worn. All staff and students will then walk down to Jubilee Oval together and return to school for afternoon buses.

If you are feeling fit and would like to get your steps up next Wednesday please pack your joggers for the Annual Students vs Parents Relay! This is definitely a highlight of the day for the Sacred Heart Students.  Start stretching now....😂
