Tree Planting at Yarren Dheran

On Wednesday, 22 wonderful sustainability monitors in Years 3 to 6 had the opportunity to plant 200 plants at Yarren Dheran.

It was a beautiful, sunny and crisp morning and the walk from school took us through the local streets and little parks. The students were fantastic. They took great care to remove the small plants from their pots and they planted, watered and mulched each one with great care. The wonderful volunteers at Yarren Dheran; Gay, John and Fred must be thanked for inviting us and preparing this annual event which we look forward to every year. Thanks also to Bonnie our kind parent helper.

I highly recommend that students at Mitcham organise an outing during the holidays, to visit Yarren Dheran with their classmates and families. It is a beautiful parkland, and the information centre is open every Sunday from 2pm-4pm. Gay and her team would love you to see the interesting displays, AND there are free posters showing all the amazing, living critters that live around Yarren Dheran.
