STEM

Learning for this Term

The Grade Two students have been focusing on push and pull. Students have explored how physics is used in engineering to create a wide range of projects.

This week students created a wind powered car using skewers, cotton reels, a piece of paper, Blu Tack and corflute sheets.

After construction we tested our cars to see which one could travel the greatest distance.

Nude Food Friday

On Friday Miss Middlin will be running a Nude Food competition.

This competition is aiming to promote sustainability across the school. Nude Food is simply food that is not wrapped in foil, plastic or commercial packaging.

On Friday selected students will be allocated a time to survey classes to see how many have brought Nude Food to school.

The class with the most students with the most Nude Food will receive the Nude Food Medal for the week. Last week’s winners were 4AC!

Every fortnight we will be having a STEM question for students to answer.

The questions will be posted in the school's newsletter. These questions will not be compulsory, but will be a bit of fun and a challenge for students.

Students can write their answer on a piece of paper and place it in the appropriate box inside the STEM room.

At the end of the week Miss Middlin will do a lucky dip and select one student from Prep- 2 will receive a small science related prize. This week’s question is found below.
