Home Inquiry
High Frequency Words: Next term we will replace this section of the newsletter with a weekly mathematics prompt / question. The list words will still be available to access for continued practice.
Reading: Aim to read 15 minutes at home per night.
Inquiry: Ask your child about their GLOW learning and what they are enjoying and what is challenging them.
Learning this week:
Literacy: Jolly Spelling: This week we will review tricky words from throughout the term and create our own revision list of words.
Writer’s & Reader’s Workshop: We will end the term with some free choice book making and continue to read books of interest for our PRC lists.
Mathematics: We will review our mental computation skills this week. Exploring a variety of games and activities to grow our internal mathematic thinking skills.
Unit of Inquiry: This week is all about GLOW Week, our next unit of inquiry will begin in Week 1 next term.
GLOW Week: Year 3 Students will be engaging in their ‘choice’ learning in the mornings until recess time. Year 2 Students will rotate through four different activities and skills during the week, one on each day Monday – Thursday. Friday has been slotted aside for final preparations for our sharing afternoon. We are looking forward to all of the learning and wonder that this week will bring.
