Year 6 at Camp Jungai
Last week, our Year 6 students enjoyed an amazing camp experience at Camp Jungai, located in the heart of Taungurung Country. The camp gave students the opportunity to challenge themselves, work together, and create lasting memories with their peers. Throughout the week, students took part in a range of exciting activities including team-building initiatives, Possum Pull, high ropes, raft building, canoeing, and bushwalking. These activities encouraged students to communicate, cooperate, solve problems and support one another. It was wonderful to see students stepping outside their comfort zones, showing resilience and celebrating their achievements together.
A special part of the camp was the cultural learning sessions, where students learned about the history, culture and traditions of the Taungurung people. These experiences helped students develop a deeper understanding of the importance of Country and the rich cultural heritage of the area. Despite the wet and rainy weather throughout much of the camp, students showed incredible resilience and a positive attitude. Rather than letting the rain dampen their spirits, they embraced the experience, supported one another and continued to participate enthusiastically in activities. The challenging conditions provided an extra opportunity for students to demonstrate perseverance, adaptability and teamwork.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 students represented the school, demonstrating respect, teamwork and a positive attitude throughout the camp. We thank the Camp Jungai staff and our teachers for making this memorable experience possible.
