Well Being

Hello parents and carers,
Wow, it’s unbelievable how fast Term 2 has flown by! I wanted to share a few updates from our wellbeing journey at NPS over the last term.
It's been fantastic to see our learning through The Resilience Project really taking off this term. Across the school, students have been engaging in lessons focused on Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy (GEM+), and we're starting to notice these concepts becoming part of everyday conversations. It's been wonderful hearing students talk about gratitude, recognise their emotions and use the language they've been learning in meaningful ways.
Earlier this term, our Year 3–6 students completed The Resilience Survey, which gave them an opportunity to anonymously share their thoughts and feelings about their wellbeing. We are looking forward to exploring the results, which will help the Wellbeing Team better understand the strengths and needs of our students and ensure we are focusing our efforts where they can have the greatest impact.
The Wellbeing Team also recently spent a day working together to develop an NPS Care Pathway. This will provide staff with a clear process to follow when they have concerns about a student's wellbeing, helping us to identify and support students who may be experiencing challenges as early as possible.
One of the highlights of the term was 1C's wonderful TRP-themed assembly. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the learning taking place in classrooms and to see students confidently sharing their understanding of wellbeing with the wider school community.
We're also excited about what's ahead. Early next term, members of the Wellbeing Team will be attending The Resilience Project Teacher Seminar to continue building our knowledge and understanding of best-practice wellbeing education. Later in the year, we'll also be visiting schools that have been implementing The Resilience Project for a number of years to learn from their experiences and gather ideas to further strengthen wellbeing at NPS.
We are also adding to our growing wonderful Education Support Team, early next term I will introduce this team in our next Wellbeing Newsletter update, so stay tuned!
Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to continuing this important work together and sharing more of our wellbeing journey with you next term. I hope you all have a lovely break and look forward to seeing you next term.

Our fantastic Prep teacher and Wellbeing Team member, Brigitte, has been doing an incredible job at creating some very special videos with our students about our school. My favourite was a video around gratitude, where our students shared what they are most grateful for, take a look!
